ABOUT US
We are a long-established Architectural practice based on the Suffolk Coast with a wide range of experience in housing, education, heritage and commercial projects. We offer a design led approach and can provide a full range of support, through concept, detailed design, planning, technical design and project management. We pride ourselves on working closely with our clients to deliver designs tuned to their needs and aspirations.
Much of our work is residential; one-off homes, along with conversion and refurbishment of barns, sheds and existing houses to create unique homes for our clients. We have significant experience with listed buildings and heritage projects. We undertake commercial works and have recently delivered a beautiful organic farm shop, a Montessori nursery school, vegetable stores, workshops, vehicle dealerships and a new farmyard.
Our current project portfolio runs from £30,000 to £3.5m, from small extensions to a new public leisure pool and a new agricultural plant dealership. We care about our community and undertake work supporting local charities by helping them with design, planning and construction management.
TESTIMONIALS
" We were intending to purchase a three acre meadow on which there was no planning, Tim drew up some plans which we were completely happy with. He struggled with the planners and several modifications had to be made including the footprint, after 12 months of discussions we were granted permissions for our final home, a single story eco-friendly light and airy home with a south/west outlook. unfortunately the owner of the land decided not to sell on the day before contracts were exchanged. therefore to our dismay we have been unable to complete our project."

" The only architect we've ever worked with us who costed the design correctly so that the builders' quotes matched the estimate and were close to our budget! They helped us to choose a great builder and then worked with them to come up with a great result. We were converting two tiny old cottages into one and they not only carried out the design beautifully, but also enhanced it where they could as they went along. They were really focused on value, but also on using materials that were in keeping with the age of the cottage. Tim was great to work with - clear questions where they needed a decision, good suggestions, easy to deal with - quick to reply on specifics and also regular general updates. And most importantly we’ve now got a beautiful house that works well for us."

"Tim Hannon visited me to discuss plans for my new house, having explained what I wanted Tim came back with a plan, there were a few tweaks to satisfy my requirements, but otherwise the design was perfect. Tim kept in touch through the whole process, offering advice when I needed it (I project managed the site) the result was a property that is frequently admired by passers-by and a very comfortable home to live in."

"We had always wanted to live in a modern house – we just never thought we’d build one. When we decided to build a new house in the grounds of our 1970s property in Walberswick we were initially advised that only a traditional property would have any chance of getting through planning. That was our initial brief to Tim, who produced a two- story brick and wood facia design with some thoughtful twists, which would sit next to the existing house. When that failed to pass planning, Tim sat us down and asked us what we would like to build and live in if we didn’t have to compromise. From there, he took our suggestions and created an innovative and architecturally interesting single-story design, with a central double height living area and mezzanine which was both aesthetically pleasing and functional and which sat perfectly on the site. He used modern heating technologies and blended traditional wood and brick elevations with glass walls through which light streams into the house and which give it a dramatic sense of scale. Most importantly, he involved us at each stage of the design, listening to suggestions and explaining aspects of the design; his approach was consultative so that we always felt involved.
Moreover, Tim was with us at every stage of the planning and building process, overcoming objections and tweaking the design where necessary, without losing its integrity or compromising on design quality. It would not have been possible to get permission for the build without his professional presentations to planning authorities; he attended meetings, made phone calls, and set up site visits. The result is that three years later we are living in a modern house, which exceeds our current and future needs."
